Moody Advanced Professional Studies (MAPS)
Current MAPS Juniors: You have a special opportunity to apply to MAPS next year without any additional students. Since you have already been accepted into MAPS, your application will be more focused (and shorter). The application opens at 8AM Monday November 18th and closes Friday November 22nd at midnight (each application is time stamped.) This is your best opportunity to get your new favorite MAPS Focus Area(s). The admissions decision will be shared with you on December 6th. If you cannot meet this timeline you can always apply either early or regular decision as well. Students and Parents – our first MAPS Information Session will be at 6:30PM on December 3rd.
We would love to welcome you back to MAPS next year – so please put some good thought into your responses to the two prompts.
MAPS Mission
The Moody Advanced Professional Studies (MAPS) program is a profession-centered approach to education, offering juniors and seniors unique learning experiences leveraging team projects and class presentations while earning course credits. The professional skills acquired through this program equip students with critical completive advantages as they prepare for post-secondary education and professional careers. The curriculum is augmented by the frequent participation of industry guest speakers, real-world challenges, and modern projects developed in collaboration with local businesses and universities. Some MAPS focus areas are co-taught by two teachers over two consecutive class periods, while others are comprised of a single course taught by one teacher. You can learn about each of our focus areas and our outstanding teachers on this page.
The application process for being admitted to a MAPS focus area begins in the late fall with tours and information sessions provided to students and their parents. Students interested in applying must complete the online application which will be posted later this fall.
