HPHS wins State Championships in Math and Science

The HPHS math and science teams took home the 5A Sweepstakes Award and first place in Number Sense, Mathematics and Science from the Texas Math and Science Coaches Association (TMSCA) State Championship Meet March 16 in San Antonio. The team also took fifth place in Calculator.

Individual first-place awards included:

Justin Li:
- First place, Ninth-grade Number Sense
- First place, Ninth-grade Mathematics
- Ninth-grade Top Gun

Parth Nandekar:
- 10th-grade Top Gun

Amy Li:
- First place, 11th-grade Number Sense
- 11th-grade Top Gun

Richard Luo:
- First Place, 12th-grade Mathematics
- First Place, 12th-grade Science
- 12th-grade Top Gun
- Top Biology/Chemistry/Physics
