Carpool information for parents

Armstrong Elementary School, 3600 Cornell Ave., 75205
  • The Cornell Avenue front door & St. John's Drive door by the cafeteria open at 7:30 a.m.
  • Students should remain in the cafeteria until the 7:50 a.m. bell rings.
  • Students will then proceed to their classroom and be ready to begin class when the 8 a.m. bell rings.

Bradfield Elementary School, 3920 Caruth Blvd., 75225
  • Morning drop-off for students in grades K-4 is on Southern Ave. The front door will open at 7:30 a.m. The front door will be monitored and remain unlocked until 8 a.m.
  • Teachers will open their classroom doors at 7:50 a.m. when the first bell rings.
  • Kindergarten through fourth-grade students who arrive between 7:30 and 7:50 a.m. should report to the gym.
  • Students and parents will be able to enter the grade-level pods when the 7:50 a.m. bell rings.
  • Class begins promptly at 8 a.m. when the second bell rings.
  • For the safety of all students, please follow the traffic pattern map.
Hyer Elementary School, 8385 Durham St., 75225
  • Students should plan to arrive each morning by 7:50 a.m. Hyer staff will monitor all doors and students beginning at 7:30 a.m. Doors that will be used for students to enter the building are:
    • Front doors on Durham
    • Side doors on Wentwood
  • Teachers will open their classroom doors at 7:50 a.m. when the first bell rings.  
    • Students arriving before 7:50 a.m. will be directed to the gym to sit quietly.  
    • Students arriving with their parents before 7:50 a.m. will wait in the first-floor hallway either in the front foyer or on the window seats as directed by a staff member.  
  • All Students and parents will be able to go to their grade-level pods and classrooms when the 7:50 a.m. bell rings. 
  • Class begins promptly at 8 a.m. when the second bell rings. Parents should leave at this time to minimize class distractions.

University Park Elementary School, 3505 Amherst Ave, 75225
  • Doors open at 7:30 a.m.  
  • Students are welcome to wait in the gym until the 7:50 a.m. bell rings.Students will then proceed to their classroom and be ready to begin class when the 8 a.m. bell rings.

McCulloch Intermediate School / Highland Park Middle School, 3555 Granada, 75205
  • The Key Street/Cafeteria Entrance will open at 6 a.m. for students involved in early-morning athletics.
  • The High School Street door will open at 7 a.m.
  • The Granada Avenue door will open at 7:30 a.m.
  • The front entrance will open at 7:30 a.m.
  • The four entry doors will have security monitors/teachers.

On the first day of school, all students should go directly to their advisory class.
After the first day of school:
  • Fifth-graders who arrive before 8:10 a.m. should report to the cafeteria.
  • Sixth-graders who arrive before 8:10 a.m. should report to the auditorium.
  • Seventh- and eighth-graders who arrive before 7:50 a.m. should report to the cafeteria or the appropriate tutorial class. 
Highland Park High School, 4220 Emerson, 75205 
  • The new student entrance on Westchester Drive just south of the old arches will open at 6 a.m. A security monitor will be stationed at the door to check student IDs and to issue volunteer badges.
  • The front entrance on Emerson will be open from 7:15-8:10 a.m. A security monitor will be stationed at the door to check student IDs and to issue volunteer badges.
  • Students will need to enter HPHS through the Westchester student entrance and, from 7:15-8:10 a.m. only, the Emerson front entrance. 
  • Students who wish to study or meet in the building before or after school are asked to use the library, cafeteria or a classroom. The library and cafeteria will close at 4 p.m.
