This resolution includes a provision that ensures all employees will be continued to be paid during the closure.
“Our buildings may be closed, but HPISD educators are working extremely hard to provide instructional continuity for our students. That's why passing these resolutions was so important,” said School Board President Jim Hitzelberger. “Parents can expect engaging online and offline lessons for children as well as enrichment opportunities while schools are closed.”
To avoid community spread of COVID-19, the board held its March 24 meeting online, in accordance with the Governor’s emergency modifications to the Texas Open Meetings Act.
