Excitement could be felt throughout the district on Sept. 8 as school buildings opened their doors, and in-person instruction began for those students who selected on-campus learning. The historic day included the opening of Boone Elementary and newly renovated Hyer Elementary, where upgrades honored the school's history and deeply rooted traditions. HPISD staff has spent the past two months planning for today, staying focused on the health and safety of students, staff, parents, and community. These protocols were present throughout the district as week four of the school year kicked off.
