Tomorrow (Monday, Nov. 9) Highland Park High School will open to students at 7:30 a.m. to allow time for them to retrieve belongings that were left in classrooms Friday. The campus will follow a normal schedule with in-person and remote learning. Classes will begin at 8:10 a.m.
Thank you for your patience. HPISD has received notification that the HPHS parking garage is now reopened. Access is limited to the Glenwick entrance and exit.
Individuals may enter and exit the HPHS parking garage through the east entrance located on Glenwick near Seay Tennis Center to retrieve vehicles. The Westchester entrance and exit are closed and will remain closed through the weekend.
Minor work continues to repair the damage. For safety reasons, the HPHS building will not be accessible until Monday morning when classes resume. The building will open at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9.

UPDATE REGARDING GAS LEAK – Fire extinguished, area remains closed
Fire crews and Atmos Energy personnel have extinguished the fire that erupted this morning while repairing the break in the gas line. The HPHS parking garage and building remain closed as crews continue to work on the line. Please avoid the area. HPISD will continue to monitor the situation to keep staff, students and parents informed about access to the parking garage to retrieve vehicles.
HPISD would like to thank First Responders for their work this morning.
This morning shortly after 9 a.m. an accident occurred while repairing the gas line break. Atmos Energy and emergency personnel are on the scene. Please avoid the area. The HPHS parking garage is closed and is not accessible. HPISD will continue to monitor the situation to keep you informed and to provide updates.
