The College Board has identified six Highland Park High School seniors as 2021 National Merit Scholar Recognition Award recipients. The students scored in the top 2.5 percent of high school students nationwide after taking the PSAT qualifying test last year. Five HPHS students were identified as National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholars for taking the PSAT/NMSQT and designating themselves as Hispanic/Latino. HPHS students were identified as National African American Recognition Program Scholars for taking the PSAT/NMSQT and designating themselves as African American. Of the six students, one was identified as both a National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar and a National African American Recognition Program Scholar.
