This week HPISD is joining the country in recognizing May 3-7 as Teacher Appreciation Week. It’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate the level of commitment to educating students that HPISD teachers have shown this year and the district invites staff, parents and the community to join in thanking a teacher.
We all know teachers make a difference in the lives of children. Each of us can share stories about that one teacher who was so significant in our own lives, perhaps even changing its trajectory. Teachers are indeed positive role models who nurture and engage students to help them develop and grow into the best versions of themselves.
Now more than ever, teachers deserve to be celebrated and thanked for the profound impact they make in the lives of our children. In spite of all that the pandemic has thrown at education, teachers have continued to lead the way with grace. They have stayed the course, and poured their hearts into every student while continuing to design rich, rigorous and relevant classroom activities for all learners, in-person and remote.
To recognize HPISD teachers, the Board of Trustees adopted a proclamation in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week. Throughout the week each HP school will celebrate its teachers for serving as role models for our students, exhibiting leadership during challenging times and bringing positive energy to the classroom every day for every student.
