More than 540 seniors walked the stage in front of family and friends, signifying the successful completion of high school and their readiness to begin their post-secondary journey. For family members and friends who are unable to attend, the ceremony was streamed live.

The Class of 2021 has shown incredible resilience the last two years. “While things may have looked different this year, and that is an understatement for sure, the high standard of excellence associated with HPHS remained strong despite so many challenges,” HPHS Principal Jeremy Gilbert said. “I am proud of each of our graduates and look forward to celebrating their accomplishments with family and friends.”

On average, 97 percent of Highland Park High School graduates pursue a college degree. Some of the universities our graduates will attend include Duke, Harvard, Tulane, Stanford, SMU, UT, Texas A&M and OU to name just a few.

Superintendent Dr. Tom Trigg will congratulate graduates during the ceremony and encourage them to remain committed to service. “The true spirit of our community is the willingness to help and serve others,” Trigg said. “For decades, our motto has been Enter to Learn, Go Forth to Serve. This group of graduates has exhibited service over self. That’s an exceptional foundation for the bright future awaiting our graduating Scots.”

The Class of 2021 includes 13 National Merit Finalists, five National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholars, two National African American Recognition Program Scholars, 32 National Merit Commended students, 47 National AP Scholars, the National Football Foundation Gridiron Club of Dallas scholar-athlete of the year, Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) Cross Country athlete of the year, an All-State band member, and team and individual medalists in various UIL competitions.

The Class of 2021 has been offered scholarships from colleges and universities from across the United States that total more than $9 million.
