Of nearly 3.6 million high school seniors graduating this year, Carmack is one of approximately 5,000 students selected as a scholar candidate. The program was established in 1964 by presidential executive order to recognize our nation’s most distinguished graduating seniors. In June, 161 of the 5,000 scholar candidates will advance to be named a U.S. Presidential Scholar and will visit the White House to be awarded a Presidential Medal.
Carmack’s outstanding accomplishments include a perfect SAT score of 1600, 4.69 GPA, National Academic Decathlon Silver Medalist, National Merit Semi-Finalist, Boys State Supreme Court Justice and several gold, silver, and bronze medals in State competitions for Computer Science, Math, Science and Academic Decathlon (AcDec). Additionally, Carmack founded his own company, Zrem Technologies, at the age of 16 to bring artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics into the home.
