The HP Science and Technology Festival Keynote Speaker series was held with both an in-person and remote audience Jan. 30 at the HPHS auditorium. The event was emceed by the Emmy Award-winning CEO of Murray Media, Scott Murray. Featured speakers included President & COO of Activision Daniel Alegre and CEO of Beauty Bio Jamie O'Banion who shared their personal stories of how science and technology have shaped and inspired their careers.
To kick off the event, Principal Gilbert announced student award winners in each of three categories, as well as the overall winner of the first-ever student competition. Each winner received a trophy and scholarship check. The overall winner was HPHS student GB Stalnaker. He presented a brief summary about his project: “Restoring and Cataloging a Native Texas Ecosystem using DNA Barcoding.”
