The Flying Scots track and field team finished in a tie for fifth overall at the UIL 5A Region II meet April 29-30 at UT-Arlington. The team was led by state qualifiers John Rutledge, who finished first in the 200 meters with a time of 21.83, and Luke Herring, who finished third in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 37.55.
Rutledge and Herring will advance to the UIL 5A State Championship Meet May 12-14 at Mike. A Myers Stadium
at the University of Texas in Austin.

At the regional meet, the Lady Scots were led by Kayla Dickerson who finished fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:15.21 and Sara Cavey who finished fifth in the 3,200 meters with a time of 11:44. Click here for complete HP girls results.
