HPHS freshman Boone Bonfield and George Hunt are members of Boy Scout Troop 82.
Together they spent more than 100 hours each executing a landscape re-design of the area around the Foundation office located at the corner of Grassmere and Westchester, immediately east of Highlander Stadium. The Eagle Scout project began in the summer with fundraising efforts followed by a comprehensive design plan process led by the scouts. Once materials were secured, the scouts spent two weekends in September installing the design with the assistance of 14 of their peers. The project includes two park benches that have immediately benefited HPHS students and area visitors and residents.
The HPEF wishes to thank everyone involved in the project including Boone Bonfield, son of Maryjane and Chris Bonfield and George Hunt, son of Elizabeth and Taylor Hunt. They also extend a gracious thank you to the work team who contributed their time, energy and passion for creating a better environment for the Foundation, the Alumni office and the HPISD community.
