35 HPHS students named National Merit Commended Students

Highland Park High School is proud to announce that 35 seniors have been selected as Commended Students in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program. These HP students are among 34,000 high schoolers recognized throughout the nation for reaching this level of achievement after taking the 2021 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). They will be honored during a special breakfast Nov. 3 at HPHS.

"The success of these exceptional students is yet another brilliant illustration of the attention HPISD students give towards their academic preparation,” HPHS Principal Jeremy Gilbert said. "I know the excellent teachers these students have had throughout their HPISD career helped provide our Scots with the necessary tools to experience lifelong success. It has been a pleasure having served these students as they prepare to begin their journey through college next year."
