The game started slowly with the Scots leading at halftime 25-22, then pulling away in the second half for a 64-47 win. HP out-rebounded East 27-19 and had 19 assists. The scoring was led by Jordan Stribling with 17, Dylan Walker with 16, and Coleson Messer with 15. Drew McElroy led the team in assists with 7, and he also scored 11 points.
Varsity played another non-district game at home Nov. 29 against the defending 6A champion McKinney Lions. The Scots controlled the game throughout and won 64-43. HP had the decisive advantage of 48-20 points in the paint over the Lions and held their 6’11” Jackson Seale to 6 points. Coleson Messer had a dominating performance and set a personal high with 26 points and went 12-for-16 from the field. Drew McElroy added 11 points and led the team in assists with 5 and in blocks with 2. Thomas Jackman had 8 points and 2 outstanding dunks.
