The Scots brought home their second consecutive 5A State Golf Championship May 15 with an incredible 33-stroke lead. The team finished the first day with a 10-stroke lead at the White Wing Golf Club in Georgetown. By late Tuesday afternoon, the team had tripled its lead, winning its 20th state championship with a score of 564.
"It was one of the most impressive performances I have seen since I've been coaching," Mens Head Golf Coach Jeff Loyd said. "The first day we struggled a little coming in, but that 10-under total on the second day is about as good as it gets!"
Five players finished the state tournament among the top 13 and three players posted a score of 70 or better in the second round. HP sophomore Trip Carter also took home the individual 5A state championship.
