HPMS eighth-grader Justin Li placed first in the eighth-grade General Math contest with a perfect score at the Texas Math and Science Coaches Association middle school state meet April 21. The Raiders earned fifth place overall out of a field of 55 other 5A schools for Team Sweepstakes, and the team took third place in the General Math competition.
27 MIS/HPMS students competed at the contest and took four tests: Number Sense, General Math, Calculators, and General Science. Students had to qualify at one previous local or regional meet to advance to the state competition held at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
