Comprised of parents, HPISD staff and community members, the Sounding Board for Inclusive and Respectful Schools met for the first time this school year Oct. 30. Its mission is to provide regular feedback to district administrators on issues relating to HPISD's climate and culture, and the group will meet throughout the year to highlight progress and discuss areas of concern.
This week, the group discussed a number of topics, including the recent tragedy at a synagogue in Pittsburgh, as well as how schools should recognize religious holidays.
