Highland Park ISD will host a forum for the community to develop a better understanding of the state's public school funding formula and how the current recapture system, informally known as Robin Hood, impacts the district. The event will take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5 in the auditorium at Armstrong Elementary School, 3600 Cornell Avenue.
Speakers will include State Rep. Morgan Meyer, State Senator-Elect Nathan Johnson, Executive Director of the Texas School Coalition, Christy Rome, HPISD Superintendent Dr. Tom Trigg and Chairman and CEO of The Commit Partnership, Todd Williams. Williams is one of Governor Greg Abbott's appointees to the Texas Commission on School Finance.
The public is invited to attend.
