Ranked number one in a class of more than 560 students is Evan Huang, HPHS Valedictorian for the Centennial Class of 2023. This fall, Huang will head to Cambridge, Massachusetts to study Economics at Harvard University. He plans to work in Finance.

Ranked second in her Highland Park High School graduating class is Michelle Xing. She plans to study computer science and mathematics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the fall.

Olivia Fox and Jack True were presented with the 2023 Highland Park High School Blanket Award during Honors Day May 25. Between them, they have amassed more than 600 hours of community service and were collectively involved in more than 20 or more HPHS extracurricular activities.

Among the Class of 2023 graduates are seven students who signed letters of intent, committing to study fine arts at the post-secondary level.

The annual HPHS Honors Day assembly May 25 recognized the many accomplishments, awards and scholarships earned by the Class of 2023 including the Hall of Fame recipients, HP Servant graduates, Valedictorian, Salutatorian and Blanket Award Winners.

Retiring trustees Tom Sharpe and Stacy Kelly were recognized at the May 16 School Board meeting. Sharpe and Kelly, who have served on the Board since 2017, received framed resolutions acknowledging their contributions, commitments and service to the HPISD community and students.

Highland Park High School will celebrate the Centennial Class of 2023 at its graduation ceremony Friday, May 26 at SMU’s Moody Coliseum. The event will be streamed live.
