Heart at Work

The HPISD “Heart at Work” Award

Education requires compassionate adults meeting the needs of children. The “Heart at Work” award in HPISD provides us a chance to recognize and celebrate those staff members who make the well-being of our students a priority.

All employees of HPISD are eligible to be recognized for being "Heart at Work." Each staff member recognized will receive a certificate and "Heart" pin to honor their service to others.

One professional and one paraprofessional employee from each campus and the District office will be chosen by a selection committee in the spring to be honored at the annual district awards banquet.

This award is generously provided by the Highland Park Education Foundation’s William P. Clements, Jr. Endowment established by the Clements Foundation in 2018.

“Heart at Work” Award Nomination Information:

HPISD will accept nominations for the current school year beginning October 4, 2024, and appreciate your participation. We are looking for the “unsung heroes” who are going the “extra mile” in serving our students, staff, families and community.

Each month, we will recognize the nominees for that month. In the spring, the District "Heart at Work" award committee will review all recognized individuals from each campus and select one professional and one paraprofessional, along with a representative from the District office, to be honored at the annual staff recognition banquet. Each district winner will also receive a $500 stipend by payroll check.

"Heart At Work" nominations can be submitted by teachers, administrators, staff, students, parents, families and anyone interested in the well-being of our HPISD community. Candidates cannot be nominated by relatives.

All nominations must be submitted on the “Heart at Work” award nomination form and sent electronically from October 4, 2024 through March 31, 2025. Nominees submitted after March 31, 2025 will be considered in the proceeding award cycle of winners.
